WHO WE ARE

For more than 15 years we designed and created artisan goods to celebrate women, from the buyer to the maker. While our official business venture has closed, we continue to sell at markets and provide consulting for startups and nonprofits looking to partner with artisans in Guatemala.

OUR STORY

We met as two women from communities that are almost 3,000 miles apart working together as co-regional coordinators of a social enterprise in Sololá, Guatemala.

In 2010 we committed to addressing a need in Juana’s own community--women artisans did not have access to markets paying fair prices.

After our first international sale we raised a glass of Guatemalan Christmas punch with ten women artisans and their families to celebrate an increase in income by 250%.

Since then, our work has grown to include a scholarship fund and a community investment fund for 20 artisans and their families.

Over the last 15+ years your purchases have sent thousands of dollars in dignified wages and scholarship funds El Triunfo, Guatemala, a small community in the rural highlands. Throughout this time we have seen the artisans expand their skillsets and challenge themselves with new products and new ways of working. We’ve watched as children in the community have graduated from school and gone on to work in banks and schools. Every purchase that you made whether online or at a market fueled this change.

And while we are officially closing, the ripple effects of the work we’ve done together, including each of you, continue on.

All of our products are co-created with our partner artisan association, Sanik, which is led by our friend, inspiration, and partner Juana Xoch.
